USAGE AND RESERVATIONS
Avery House Dining Hall is approximately 2000 square feet and is the largest space in the Avery House complex. It comes equipped with varying size (42"-60") round and rectangular wood tables and approximately 95 chairs. It is best suited for meetings and meals that require tables and chairs. The adjacent courtyard may be reserved separately, should you require additional space and seating.
Avery House Dining Hall is primarily a student-use space and hosts dinner throughout the academic year for the undergraduate residents of Avery House. Events held in the Dining Hall may not disrupt resident activity. Reservations will be extended to students up to one year in advance and to all others up to six months in advance, with the understanding that a student event may be accommodated first if a conflict arises. All requests are subject to approval by Caltech Dining Services (CDS); confirmations will be emailed.
CATERING, SETUP, AND CLEANUP
All served food and beverage must be provided by Caltech Dining Services (CDS) Catering, There is no outside food permitted. Unless otherwise requested, your catered food and beverage will be setup inside the fireplace room adjacent to the Dining Hall on the north side. Please refer to the diagrams below for setup options via Caltech Facilities, Facilities Service Requests | Facilities (caltech.edu). Any setup needs other than the options below will require the approval of CDS Catering.
Event cleanup and trash removal must be provided by Caltech Facilities, promptly upon guest exit. During the academic year when class is in session, meetings should conclude and guests should exit by 4:30pm to allow for student dinner service. You may be asked to supply CDS with a Caltech Facilities work order confirmation.
There is a motorized projector screen at the south end of the Dining Hall. You will need to provide your own projector and A/V equipment, or request support from Caltech Academic Media Technologies (AMT), http://amt.caltech.edu/.
Your access to Avery Dining Hall will be coordinated by CDS via Caltech Security. You may use only the room(s) reserved; guests should not enter or remove student food from the adjacent servery. Any food removed from the servery will be billed directly to you.
The main entrance doors to Avery House may not be propped open.
